Google Adwords

An introduction to Google Adwords

Introduction

Google AdWords is the most popular pay-per-click (PPC) advertising program. AdWords ads are displayed along the right side of the search results on Google. When you create a Google AdWords ad, you choose keywords for which your ad will appear and specify the maximum amount you're willing to pay for each click. You don't pay for traffic with AdWords until and unless a visitor actually clicks on the ad and goes to your site.

The AdWords Discounter automatically reduces the actual CPC you pay to the lowest cost needed to maintain your ad's position on the results page. Although there is a $5 activation charge, there is no minimum monthly charge to do Adwords. After you give Google your billing information, you can start your ad campaign almost right away.

First you want to set up an "Adgroup" within "Campaigns". This is the subject matter that you are dealing with and you'll probably have many keywords within one Adgroup. Google also has a backend control panel where you can track your results, put certain Adgroups on hold, set a daily budget, set language or country targets, or set individual amounts for each keyword within an Adgroup. You can bid as little as 5 cents and can see how many people are already advertising on that keyword.
